I hate when travel writers come to the city, eat some pizza at the most cliched of all the restaurants, drink beer, look at the Bean and think that sums up the Chicago experience.

I was going to let the Berghoff thing slide given that it’s an institution despite the food being mediocre, but really, Elizabeth Landau, really? Duffy’s? DUFFY’S?! GIORDANO’S?!?

That’s terrible.  Vanilla journalism at its worst.  Again, for emphasis, DUFFY’S?!

Oh, that is sad/pathetic/gross. And this is coming from me, a girl who spent a good chunk of her college/right out of college nights at Duffy’s and is still easily amused by the bean.
